Procedure:NIM Setup
First Install
Install NIM and load with packages. Assumes contents of CDS 1,2,4,5,expansion have been copied up and update set is dumped to a directory.
On NIM install server:

Create NIM node info from CSM definition, copy over CSM scripts and files
On CSM Master:
updatenode -kn pluto csm2nimnodes -n p655-3 csmsetupnim
Import bundle contents into lpp resource
On NIM install server:
gencopy -d /mnt/netapp/research/systems/AIX-5.3/RPMS -t /export/nim/lpp_source/530lpp_res -f /export/nim/custom_bundles/gnu_misc.bnd gencopy -d /mnt/netapp/research/systems/AIX-5.3/RPMS -t /export/nim/lpp_source/530lpp_res -f /export/nim/custom_bundles/openssl.bnd gencopy -d /mnt/netapp/research/systems/AIX-5.3/openssh -t /export/nim/lpp_source/530lpp_res -f /export/nim/custom_bundles/openssh.bnd
Update LPP resource with technology level / service pack updates:
On NIM install server:
nim_update_all -l 530lpp_res -s 530spot_res -d /mnt/netapp/research/systems/AIX-5.3/5300-05 -B -u -v
Note: Using gencopy to add packages to the LPP resource will overwrite any updated packages with whatever version exists in the LPP source given. For this reason, nim_update_all should be done last.
Customize Bundles and Scripts
Define custom RPM bundles
On NIM install server:
nim -o define -t installp_bundle -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/custom_bundles/gnu_misc.bnd gnu_misc nim -o define -t installp_bundle -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/custom_bundles/openssl.bnd openssl nim -o define -t installp_bundle -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/custom_bundles/openssh.bnd openssh nim -o define -t installp_bundle -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/custom_bundles/ldap_crypto.bnd ldap_crypto
Define custom scripts
On NIM install server:
nim -o define -t script -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/custom_scripts/nic_customize nic_customize
Define custom Basic Operating System configuration script:
On NIM install server:
nim -o define -t bosinst_data -a server=master -a location=/export/nim/bid_nic bid_nic
Create a new resource group for customized install configurations
On NIM install server:
nim -o define -t res_group -a bosinst_data=bid_nic -a lpp_source=530lpp_res -a spot=530spot_res -a resolv_conf=master_net_conf nic_res_grp nim -o change -a script=osprereboot_csmserver nic_res_grp nim -o change -a installp_bundle=gnu_misc -a installp_bundle=openssl -a installp_bundle=openssh -a installp_bundle=ldap_crypto nic_res_grp nim -o change -a script=nic_customize nic_res_grp
Update NIM Master With CSM Changes
Sync CSM node info with NIM; rebuild CSM node install info (scripted operations and files) and push to install server
On CSM Master:
csm2nimnodes -n p655-3 csmsetupnim -n p655-3
Trigger Node Install
Kick off a node install
On CSM Master:
ssh pluto "nim -o bos_inst -a source=rte -a group=nic_res_grp -a boot_client=no p655-3" netboot -n p655-3 & chnode -n p655-3 Mode=Installing AllowManageRequest=1
