Orion is one of Oaciss' VM hosts. It is intended to run "important" VMs as infrastructure; SMT is disabled.

Hardware Info

  • CPU: 16 core Xeon Gold 6208 @ 2.9GHz
  • RAM: 192GB
  • Disk: dual 960GB Samsung SSDs
  • Ethernet:
    • Dual X722 10Gbps NICs

Software info

  • OS base: CentOS 8

Virtualization

Orion is the main VM host.

It currently hosts five virtual machines:

  • Pliny - web
  • Cato - DNS, LDAP
  • Galen - replacement for Mecha / Neuroapp (...)
  • Custodes - licence manager daemons, holder of the keys
    • NAGware license manager (/etc/NAG)
    • Altair LM
