ICONIC Grid compute resources are to be used for research and academic purposes only. Because they are frequently used to access other highly secure systems, NIC systems are more tightly secured than many other research compute clusters. This means that extra care should be taken when selecting and securing your password. Accounts are subject to regular expiration. Accounts affiliated with a class will be terminated within two weeks of the end of the term. Other accounts will be reviewed on a yearly basis, or as affiliation status changes occur. User-owned files will be retained for three weeks after account expiration, and may be made available upon request. After three weeks, they will be purged from our storage and backup systems. Below are examples of unaccepable use of Grid resources. This list is not exhaustive, and improper uses not listed here should still be considered grounds for access revocation. * Use of systems for illegal activities * Use of systems for accessing, downloading, viewing, or distributing sexually explicit material * Use of systems for non-research-related file sharing * Use of systems for commercial purposes * Sharing of accounts with others * Abuse of system resources Use of Grid systems are also covered by the University of Oregon Conduct Code, OAR 571-21-030. Violations of that code also constitute violations of this AUP. In order to enforce this AUP, we reserve the right to monitor any and all uses of ICONIC Grid resources. By clicking the Accept button below, you signify that you have read and agreed to the above acceptable use policy. If you are found in violation of any part of this policy, your account will be considered for immediate revocation.
